Graphics color

Though build start date not until December, build list done except for graphics color. Am considering Berry as color. Has anyone else used this color or have a picture of a 21 with those graphics. Crazy but trying to decide between Berry and Battleship Gray. Interior fabric Sunbrella Wisteria which is a muted solid subtle violet.

Many times the graphics match the tow vehicle without necessarily coordinating them with the interior. As usual, its one of the myriad of choices. Have fun.

We chose Berry for our graphics, but haven't seen it yet. Soon, though! Soon!!

How soon? Maybe we have time before our build list must be in December 20 to see your beautiful Escape Berry in a picture?

I wouldn't expect a photograph posted here to provide reliable colour information. There are too many variables, including the monitor you are using. I doubt that it has been colour calibrated.

Glenn's right, but I'll post a pic, anyway (when I get one). And I can give you my verbal description.

I wouldn't do Battleship Gray, but that's because I spent 10 years in the US Navy on LGBs and BGBs (Little Gray Boats and Big Gray Boats.) Had enough...

Does anyone know what the letters EZ stand for in the Cardinal Red and Red color choices?

To answer the original question, here's our build pic of the exterior, with Berry graphics. It's a little less pink than expected, and I remind myself that purples and blues frequently don't represent well in digital pics (or film either, for that matter). I'll post my impression of it when I see it, but that's (alass) another month away...

So, any opinions on which color or type of format (EZ, etc) has better staying power, i.e. less fading, chipping, etc.
thanks

I worked as a colorist for a paint company many years ago, and I learned alot about colors (too much in my opinion). I'll try to distill it down to some of the basics:
An oxidized pigment won't be as susceptible to fading or discoloration as a synthetic pigment like a pthalo. Oxide pigments are typically colors you would find in nature - muddier, rustier, weathered, dirtier, etc. Synthetic pigments are very vivid, and except for maybe flowers, you can't find these colors in nature. Vivid pinks, bright reds, clean yellows, bright clean greens, vivid purples, etc. There's a reason that you see old barns painted with a rusty red. This is an oxide pigment, and it lasts a very long time.

Graphics manufacturers overcome the tendency for brighter, cleaner and more vivid colors to fade, by adding a UV protective layer to their graphics, which in theory, protects them from oxidizing/fading over time. Some are very high quality and do a good job of this. Others don't, despite the claims that their graphics are "UV Protected".

The graphics shop that ETI uses is one of the good ones. Decent fade and oxidation control regardless of the color chosen.

If you want to protect the graphics and aren't sure of their fade resistance over time, I'd highly recommend treating them periodically with 303 Aerospace Protectant.
