Question Has anyone done black fabric? Or charcoal?

Hi all

Has anyone done black fabric? Or charcoal?

And most importantly - any compelling reason NOT to?

We will get thermal windows in our 2017 21' so sun and heat on them is less of an issue than otherwise.

And

A nice forum member led me to a very durable, soft, suitable, easy to wipe clean synthetic fabric.

Softer than Sunbrella.

And

We are leaning towards black or charcoal as the wood is a big cabinets are a big color and pattern

(Unsure if the floor will be stock or custom)

And would probably go with a neutral Grey ish subtle pattern for Formica.

Thanks for all ideas.

Here is what I would call charcoal. However they call it Mocha

On my calibrated monitor it looks less brown and more dark grey

But a warm dark grey.

The thought was that any dust would show up slightly less on the Mocha

However

The actual black (caviar) would tie in nicely with black trim on Formica plus black window frames on interior plus black trim on fridge.

Thoughts?

Either of them would wipe clean easily with a damp cloth if need be, so no big crisis about the dust. Plus .... It is camping!!!

Here is the mocha (what I call charcoal)

I like the black, the mocha looks cool but I wouldn't believe the color without getting samples. We ordered tons of samples and 80% of what we thought were awesome online turned out to be way different.
They're in CA so you'll get exchange rate and lower shipping within CA, so good there. We love our black Formica that has gray mottling throughout and have had no fingerprint issues that others have said with the blacks. I think the smudging happens with the glossier Formica and if one stays in the Matte finishes - 58 it's not as prevalent.
It is really inexpensive to get the custom flooring, and now is the time. If ur going to go with blacks/grays I'd personally get away from the stock brown/beige flooring. The flooring with the exchange rate only ran us about $125 US and it was two grades higher than what ETI installs. Of the three customs, flooring, Formica, upholstery, we think the custom flooring turned out to be the star of the show.

P.s for flooring - I seem to recal that there is a place nearby to ETI that is the best and easiest place to buy the flooring from?

Thanks

Greg:

So what combination did you put together- which formica, upholstery, and flooring? And what is the grade of the flooring that you chose? Thanks!

Black and Gray

We chose black formica (mineral jet, radiance) and gray fabric, which we find to be a nice contrast to the standard beige vinyl and oak wood walls. Let's us use bright colors for throw pillows and bedding.

You deal with Pioneer Building Supply in Chilliwack which handles the ETI orders. I dealt with Jackie there and she'll tell you all the manufacturers that they can get flooring in for. She was great and had a huge sample of the one we wanted so she took a pic on her phone and sent it to us. I believe ETI uses Mannington and we ended up getting a couple of grades up of the Mannington.
