New 19' Escape ordered

I placed an order for a 2018 19' Escape Trailer today and made the $2,500 deposit so I am now committed. It should be available on July 23/18. Initial options are as follows:
6 cuft Dometic Fridge
Exterior Fridge Fan - not sure if this is needed in Canada
2-Way Hot Water Tank
Foot Flush Toilet
Winterizing T Valve
Surge Protector
Removable Power Cord
Additional LED Exterior light
LED Captain Reading Lamps
LED Awning Light Strip
Air Conditioner
Wireless Back Up Camera
Extra Insulation & Thermal Windows
Power Tongue Jack
Cabinet Door at end of bench
Spray Foam Insulation for under Trailer
Storage Box at front of Trailer
Sway Control and Weight Distribution Hitch
Starter Kit

I will also try to get a small shelf in the bed area on the driver's side to hold glasses, etc. within easy reach during the night. I am considering an outside shower on the passenger side for washing dishes but haven't decided if it is needed.

We have always tented in the past & probably won't spend much time in the Trailer during the day.

Welcome...That will be a great well equipped 19. Hope to see you at the big big Boler 50th fibreglass event as you will have your trailer by then.
Looks like Escape is doing great business with units now into August for delivery...

The exterior refer fan seems to be detrimental to the refer's efficiency and no longer being recommended for use except while stationary and extreme heat.

Looks generally good. Solar is a popular option, and works well. There are a lot of threads for you to browse on that topic.

I personally dislike the foot flush toilet. If the foot lever went down to the floor then I would love it, but given that it hovers in the air you can't hold the toilet valve open unless you balance on one foot. With the hand flush you can jam something against the lever to keep it open.

I also feel that the sway control and weight distribution hitch is an over purchased option. It makes sense for some tow vehicles though.

agree with Jim. Search the threads on the Thermal Fuse issues. Not worth it with the 6 cubic ft fridge. Recommend you spend those $$$ elsewhere.

Another 19 going to Alberta. Congratulations Laurie!!! You will love love love it!
And the beginning of your build sheet done, I see. But not written in stone yet :-)
What I love most about our 19, is, yes, the kitchen window. That one window in the centre of the trailer makes quite the difference. Not only for light inside, but also the view outside when behind the counter.

We just picked up our 19 last week, I’m telling you now, whenever I walk out my door past my new trailer, and see those shiny rims, it makes me smile. I’m usually more practical with my funds but feel good about the addon. And I’m on the side of, there’s probably no advantage to having them other than looks.

Now that I have a trailer with a bathroom window, I'd never have a trailer without.

Isn't it fun there are so many options to make a trailer uniquely our own?

After more consideration, we will be getting the bathroom and kitchen thermal windows. Also going to get the outside shower on the passenger side. Will remove the fridge fan from the build as it seems to be unnecessary and apparently can be problematic.

Marry the bath window let's in light and helps dry out the shower . Ours slides up so we can pass a hose through to the toilet which we have a wand and get it pretty clean . Love the bath window as much as the kitchen window . Pat

+ window over sink. Absolutely brightens my mornings.
+ extra insulation with thermal windows. Helps keep us warm and -- maybe even a hair less aware of outside sounds?
+ Captain reading lights. Dramatically less harsh than the ceiling lights and directional. I installed my own -rarely ever use ceiling lights.
+ winterizing T-valve. Ditto above.
+ storage box on tongue. Ditto-ditto above.
- sway control and weight distribution hitch. Not needed with my Silverado 1500.
- exterior fridge fan. I found it to be no advantage whatsoever.
- foot-flush toilet valve. Ditto above.
- outside shower. Ditto above.

All the rest--- strictly personal.

How exciting to hear about your order

Don't put off setting the orientation day when they send you the notice; our completion date is November 24th but we delayed our reply for a few days to determine best time of day, all said and done we are now booked to pick up on December 4th....

Still so exciting

Are we moving on to the solar panel now....? (Just kidding)

Laurie, I was wondering if you would be willing to share your future camping plans?
Maybe we can save you some money

Outside of camping in the Kelowna area after we pick up the trailer, we have no specific plans for next year. My wife is an avid Geocacher so we will be travelling a lot in the summer.
