Somehow, all the Escape owners with weather extremes... doesn't seem fair. Stay safe everyone. Every single day is a GIFT! Go camping, make memories!

Was -29 deg C when I started the truck this morning. Supposed to get even colder later this week (-35 deg). Can't wait for spring.

Wish we could ship some our rain down there to you. Haven't seen the sun for a week now.

Several Vancouver Island districts closed their schools today as a snow storm continued into its third day. The good news is that our ski mountain finally has a decent snow base.

Although the snowfall is finally slowing, the temperature hasn't risen enough for it to turn to rain, so the roads could be treacherous in the morning, which might cause a second day of school closures, which is unusual here.

As a result of all this, my "inner snowbird" is looking forward to flying south soon for some great music, BBQ, and Shiner beer at SXSW in Austin, TX, where temperatures are usually in the high seventies or low eighties in mid-March. Has anyone ever camped with their trailer in or near Austin? We might try it next year when we finally have our Escape.

It is up to -20°C (-4°F) here this morning. Supposed to get up to near freezing tomorrow, only to plunge again by the weekend. It sure has been a rollercoaster for weather this winter. I love winter, but would love some moderation along with it.

According to the experts, this is the 4th warmest winter on record, worldwide when you consider the record breaking hot they are having in the southern latitudes right now.

Snowing the past 3 days in Vancouver. Figured if you can't beat em join em so we headed to Whistler yesterday to do some skiing. Sunny in Whistler today, 4 cm new last night, 100 cm past 7 days, -1C at the peak and -6C in the valley. With those conditions, I can wait for summer to go camping.

If only we could figure out how to trade our sun for your water ...

Of course, we can't catch a break. All our trees are in bloom and now a big storm is headed our way. There go the fruit crops ...
