Ditto!!!
and having better control of the trailer while on that interstate after the blowout was a plus also

Also, should mention that jacking up the trailer is easier with the Anderson Rapid Jack

We also have a two couple we know who just bought Escapes, one got a 19, the other a 21, so we hung out in each and like the 19 layout better. But, since you are going to be FT, I think you are making the right choice. We are working on our build sheet and are about a week ahead of you time-wise for completion and pick up. We plan on heading to Banff after pick up.
Is the taco not capable of towing a 21?

For years I said that I'd love to have a 21 with a 19 layout but this isn't it. The extra length would have gone into the kitchen area and possibility the rear to make two Oliver like bunks.

So the huge dinette at the expense of a small counter area and, especially for my wife, the bed so close to the stove are non-starters.

That layout might work for some but I'd hardly call it the best of both worlds.

Ron
Spot on. Thanks Ron, you said it better than I could have.

I agree with you. Also, we didn’t like constantly crawling over each other in the 19’ - but having the extra room on either side does waste good space.
Also, having the 19’ bed surrounded by 3 outside walls did make that area a bit colder at night. We’re hoping the old layout in the 21 will be a tad warmer.

We’re going to configure the 21’ front bed into a sofa for daytime use, by using cushions. Still working on the designs.

Update that trailers with the new floor plan are being delivered starting in January 2020:

Yes we did, thanks. We went back and forth and decided that the 19 fits our needs just fine. Tempting however.

Personally I think it is pushing it just a tad, but plenty of folks here do.

Congratulations on your purchase! You are joining the ranks of many who have transitioned from the Casita to the larger Escape. You won’t regret it!

I tend to agree Ron, who needs a 6 person dinette?

Ron: I appreciate and respect your view. Still looking forward to the pictures of the new mock up that were promised. Thinking that maybe some things were configured a bit different from the basic floor plan layout that was shared.

It is, I do.

It's not ideal, that is you have to pay more attention to multiple parameters that one might blithely ignore if one had a more ginormous TV, but perhaps having to pay attention makes one a safer RVer. The mileage isn't too bad, the revs are (usually) reasonable, plus, I just love my Tacoma. I drive slow and keep the weight down.
