What's the deal with the referral card? How much is it worth? Let's see...who can I say referred me?

It depends if they see another trailer then yours and they used exchange rate also so the check gets smaller being spit up . Pat

We looked at 4 different owner-owned trailers earlier this year and only one person gave us a referral card - the first trailer we looked at, which happened to be a 21'. The owner of the second trailer told us to not worry about a referral card for him and to let it go to the first one we saw. The other two folks never mentioned a card, so they might not have been handing them out.

Escape gives you cards with their contact info on it and you put your name on it. You hand them out when you show your trailer to someone and if they purchase and remember to hand in that card (or give the name to ETI, I guess), then at some point you'll get a check for $200 if yours was the only card turned in. You can turn in a maximum of 2 cards per trailer, so if someone else turns one in, you only get $100. Which is still nothing to sneeze at in my books.

Did you view any trailers in person? I think that's who the referral cards are for since they took the time to spiff up their trailer for you and took the time to talk to you.

Our check was only 75.00 because it was split and I was told the exchange rate a couple months ago . Pat

Haven't seen one in person yet. I know there is a 19 nearby and a 21 maybe a couple hundred miles away. Still need to set up a visit.

The referral cards are fine, but you can just give Escape a name and they'll put it on your build sheet. We had already decided to purchase, had our build sheet about completed and had even visited the factory before we sent them a referrer name. Steve and Cynthia in Boerne were nice enough to let us tour their trailer a month or two later, so they got the referral.

I've probably got about 12 referral cards out there, and no bonus yet, but that's not why I show the trailer anyway. If a bonus comes, that's just icing on the cake.

Wow, how cool. Congratulations! When I saw those openings I didn't figure they'd make the day. Wonder who got the other one?

I added the referral with my final final build sheet. Dave & Kathie (21) got the check.

Congrats on the purchase, Laura. I don't think I will have to add that you'll love it, it seems you have that part down pat already.

And yeah, they are pricey, but quite cheap for you folks in the US. The exchange rate today closed at an 11 year low. You might want to think of putting most of the money down soon. Just a thought. I paid a lot more for my tow vehicle, which in 15 years will be worth way less. And they are a lot cheaper than homes, especially around here. Heck, I could sell my house and have a fleet of 30 5.0's, though not sure what I would do with them. LOL

I have never used a referral card, just told interested folks to mention my name. Only have had a few payments, but like you Robert, that is not at all the reason I do like to show my trailer.

There seems to be a Texas contingent coming to the rally this year, do you know if Steve and Cynthia are headed back this way too? AND, what about you, it would be great to meet in person, so you need to come too. Besides, you need a good holiday, right?

I don't think this was already mentioned...

Due to the domino effect, everyone (such as Laura) who already has an order in and moves up to an earlier date, leaves their original date open for a new order... so some people it will be worth checking for those later dates (2016 December in Laura's case).

I hope they will get at least a few more openings for trailers in 2016 with their new space and that this is only the lucky first couple.

Congratulations to both of you! With my 19, I was told that we had to inform ETI that we wanted an earlier date and then they put us on a list in case there were any cancellations. I did and we ended up with a completion date 4.5 months earlier!

I'm not planning anything dramatic but doing a little head scratching about the dinette and underbed storage. I've also been watching the other thread on adding portable solar. That's another one I'm wanting to do.

Working on them is (almost) as much fun as camping!

Look to the left of this post.

(Dec 28, 2016)

I know there won't be much in the way of sleeping tonight, that's for sure!

Oooo, when did you snag that puppy? Congrats! Were your hands shaking and your heart pumping when you snagged it?

All I know is there were two openings and they said the other one was taken. I didn't know it was for Dec 28th until she called me back after their computers rebooted, so the other trailer may not have been for the same date.

Interesting info on the moving up of orders, Brian. Kind of what I thought. And I know you can turn it down if you don't want the date moved up. I'm sure someone else will be happy to. We're already discussing where our shakedown trips will be, which will depend somewhat on the weather.

Once I get the paperwork info from them on payment, I plan to send them a big chunk of money. I also need to talk to my credit union to see the best way to get the funds to them. Heck, I can see myself having them cut a check to ETI and then I hand deliver it as I go up to scope out the 21' in more detail now that I know I have one on order. What's a 3 hour drive? Nothing I haven't done before and will do again.
