It was not standard on our 2017 21' completed in February. We did not add it to our build sheet, and we do not have it.

I'm glad that we reversed the sink and the stove, although there are times when I think it might be easier to efficiently wash dishes with the standard set up. I did not want to be standing next to the bed when i cooked and we do have the flip up counter extension, so food off the stove can easily be passed outside. This is all psychological, but when i first saw an Escape 19 it looked shockingly small -- we were coming from a 31' Airstream and the stove near the bed made it seem smaller. As soon as I realized I could switch the sink and the stove I knew the small space would work for me -- there would be space on either side of me when I cooked -- and more time is spent in front of the stove than in front of the sink. Also, now that I think about it, if Terry wants to pass me when I'm cooking inside, I'm not blocking the bed.

Arguments have been made for either setup, and I agree with all of them actually, but this is the best for me.

A great way to look at all options and mods folks do. If it works for them, then it is the best way to be done.

I added one on my 2017 21, but rarely use it. Not sure I'd do it again...

We use ours; among other uses we sometimes place a small wood cutting board to set hot pans on while using burner space for another pan.

I expect that the idea was that the 21' has more counter space so it was not needed as on the 19'. But of course someone could add it for even more. We added three counter extensions but did not want one there.

I swapped the sink and stove location on my 5.0TA and I'm very happy with the change. I also eliminated the range hood. The passenger side external shower was moved aft to be where the sink is and Escape put in a much smaller kitchen window over the sink. I really like the smaller window. One big difference is that the ABS sink drain pipe runs forward along the front bottom of the cabinet to get to the grey tank. It takes up some cabinet space but that doesn't bother me at all.

We also use ours . It is where the 3 gal water for drinking sits . I did cut it down smaller though and it stays up all the time . Cutting it down allows easier entering and exiting . Pat
