Talking Pulled the trigger...

We pulled the trigger on a 19...

After much debate about when and how much, we ordered one of the pre-built 19s off the lot, with a number of additional options added.

This means we're getting the trailer sooner than if we put ourselves in the production line up, but we have to pay a few dollars more to remove and replace a few things (e.g. upgrading the sink and stove). But, we should have the trailer by the end of May, instead of waiting until the end of July and missing most of the season!

And we don't get to pick the fabric and counter colours... oh well...

So it seems we just might make the Niagara rally in September.

Thanks everyone for your assistance in this journey!

We're having it shipped... That was one of the considerations: if we waited until next May, my wife has a conference to attend in Victoria so we could have picked it up and saved the shipping costs and taken advantage of the build-it-during-the-winter sale. But we decided to go for instant gratification instead. And, given that we're perennially short on vacation time, having it shipped made more sense for us.

So, no, we won't be attending the rally in B.C. We'll see about Niagara in September, though.

So far plans for this summer involve a week in PEI and some puddling around the local provincial parks while we learn how to make use of a "real" trailer.

PEI is a great place to be in the summer. A number of years back, I got to spend 8 weeks one summer in PEI on a "paid" vacation when I was working as part of the engineering team that was designing the Confederation Bridge. Spent most of my evenings and weekends touring around the island on a mountain bike.

Last time I was in PEI my wife had a broken leg... Snorkeling with a friend off the north shore I had to describe it as some of the best snorkeling I had seen in Canada. Wife was miffed... Had to promise her we'd go back. It's taken a couple of years, but looks like we'll make it.
