Rear dinette in 19' footer
Well, we'll probably be ordering a 19 footer soon. One big choice we'll be making is to go for both a Rear u-shaped dinette and the standard Front bench dinette. My question is, for those of you that ordered with two dinettes, do you have any regrets or do you like/love it that way? For those of you that went with the standard bed in the rear and dinette in the front, do you now wish you had maybe ordered with two dinettes? It would seem to me that if we ever get tired of changing the rear dinette over to a bed, we could always make it a permanent bed by buying a standard 60x80 queen mattress and putting it in there.

We would not give up the permanent queen bed. No way. And now that we've upgraded the stock mattress with a gel memory foam, it's even nicer. I've slept on upholstery cushions before, and also with a foam topper, but the comfort of a real mattress can't be beat. Since its just the two of us, the front dinette is more dining space than we need.

We also would not give up the bed in the back! Mattress covered with a gel memory foam is what we have also. Love it!!!
The dinette is quite spacious for two.

Never crossed my mind. Love the permanent bed.

Having all the storage under the permanent bed is a big plus also.

Well, so far, 4 against and 0 for. We're considering it because it makes the trailer feel more spacious inside and the rear dinette would make a nice lounging area we think. We got the idea after looking at an Alto 1743 in person and thought it was the best floor plan we'd been in. There bed is in the rear and is used as a u-dinette during the day. There is also a smaller dinette in the front. Thanks for the input as we haven't decided yet.

Permanent rear bed was a real decision to go with the 19. No regrets.

IF the front dinette made into a bed was big enough for two (it's not), then I could see having a huge lounge in the back, with the bed up front - but otherwise, I agree with the idea that the permanent bed in the back is the way to go. (I don't have a 19, but in our 17 ft. Casita, changing the bed from dinette to bed and back again was a pain, and we only ever did it if the weather forced us indoors for days on end...and when weather's that bad, the best solution is hitch up and move along to a sunnier spot.) I have seen "Past Tents" (rbryan4's 19) and its arrangement is great - YMMV.

We love the comfort of the rear bed. Yep, as others have mentioned, consider the storage as it holds a lot of gear. We keep two bins under the bed; one contains non perishable food and the other contains supplies such as additional paper towels and plates, toilet chemicals and paper. We also keep other necessities such as camp stove, mosquito/shade tent, tool box, cleaning supplies and more. We are campers and travelers so our needs vary each trip.
We have the u-shaped configuration at the dinette and love it except the table is a bit small. We do lounge by removing the table on days/nights when the weather isn't optimum and it makes a nice reading nook. Someone mentioned using pool noodles behind the back rest and that makes for a more comfortable arrangement.

Rear beds are awesome for having the bed tucked away in it's own little "room" instead of having it confront you as you come in the door....
...19 owner sneaks off stage right....lol

Have they said that they will do this? This is so exceedingly rare that I wonder if they still do it. And the big permanent comfortable bed is one of the biggest reasons that people get the 19'.

Outside under the awning in a nice lounge chair is way better for soaking in the view and enjoying the breeze and the weather. We only sit or eat inside if it is an emergency level with the weather, which to date hasn't happened much.

never seen one of those Alto 1743...interesting trailer design as well as its choice of materials that its made of...and the feather weight 1592 lbs! .. ... factory estimated weight for Escape 19 build was about 3600 lbs.

Get a 5.0TA, queen bed in a separate room AND a big dinette, or U-shape lounge at the rear. You get it ALL!
...5.0TA owner sneaks off stage right....lol

I knew that was coming Donna. The 5er is a perfect floor plan to me....but I just can't give up all my cargo space in the bed of the truck.

I'm with Robert, I love the truck with the Bak-Flip cover. Just wouldn't be a 5th wheel type.

I gotta say some days I wish the bed was easier in/out than the ... cozy way ... it is now.

Well, survivor is a good word. I heard that was a pretty wild ride. Doubt there were any views out any window while that was raging.
