On hook placement; I installed one at the head of our bed (my side / fridge wall ), thinking that I would hang my shirt and pants from it after crawling into bed. Soon discovered that even a shirt hangs down far enough that I got tangled in it during the night ( restless sleeper ). Now it's used to hang a flashlight.

Another was placed in a similar position on the bath wall next to the front bench. We don't use it for anything because things hanging from it interfere with the person sitting at the dinette.

I asked Sarah at ETI (Escape) about the option of re-enforcing walls.... it does cost extra $ and it does add extra weight.

The good thing (that I did not know) is that as the inner walls are somewhat soft, it is very very easy to gently push against the inner walls, and thus locate the stock existing studs, so one can easily put in a hook or whatever small item, with just the stock Escape.... simply locate a stud, and install item.

As we dont full time, and wont for a long long time (quite possibly never) plus as we consume media (movies, tv shows, etc) on iPads and iPhones and laptops .... then we'd never want to mount a tv.

we decided to not re-enforce any walls, based on all of this.

Horses for courses, as they say.

Sometimes where you think is a good place for a hook isn't.
We have to be 3M's biggest fan. Got 'em all over, shower caddy, 2 soap dishes, hooks for hats, keys and towels. I'm even using the adhesive strips to attach other gizmos.

Try spraying the white hooks with Krylon plastic paint. They have a color (which currently escapes me) that matches the plastic rivet caps and plastic interior trim.

FWIW, the end of the cabinets in the 2nd gen 19' are solid now, probably due to the new construction method, in the older style they were hollow, easier to hang items by the door on each side.

Wonder how the walls will be in the new 21' Escape?

Do not get too excited, I was referring to the upper cabinet ends by the door, old was paneling, new is paneling with wood behind. The whole wall is solid around the door.

I ordered the walls W1, W2, W4,W6 reinforced on the 21'. I figured it was better to have the wall reinforced than to try to reinforce it later.

Just curious, what walls are real wood and which are oak patterned mdf? I had the opportunity to look at a new 21' briefly and noticed that the front carcass of the cabinets are particle board with a thin oak pattern applied.

From ETI:

The wood paneling used for the walls and overhead cabinets is real wood with an oak veneer. The cabinet doors are manufactured using solid oak.

- We do not use any particle board in the trailer.

Do you have a diagram showing how the walls are numbered?

Might want to ask ETI for it, things may have changed in the newest builds.
