We survived , germs and all. In the winter we washed our hands with snow or coffee from our thermos. We are not as delicate as many would have us believe.

We still have an outhouse but with some modern improvements
Electric lights , skylight , one way glass in the door so you can watch nature when using the facilities , an LED exit light , heat ,WIFI and a bag of barn lime. It always works no matter the weather but it does smell better in Winter.

Well I've squatted in a peasant's hut and eaten yogurt from a fly encrusted communal bowl and survived but that doesn't mean that given a more sanitary alternative I won't take it.
I hated not having a wash sink in the bathroom in the Scamp. But, once again, although united in our choice of trailers, we're a diverse group opinion wise.

How boring life would be if everybody was the same and had the same opinions.

While a bathroom sink is obviously not necessary, the same could be said of every single component of the trailer, and of the trailer itself. Since the bathroom already has supply and drain plumbing, the incremental weight and complexity of the bathroom sink seems very small for the benefits. If the space it would occupy is particularly valuable to someone, they might of course choose to omit it, but it hardly seems lavish to me... and I would prefer to have one (my current trailer doesn't).
