TV Antenna

Still looking at the build sheet. Can someone explain the difference between the "TV antenna with power amplifier" and the "jack tv antenna." I would also appreciate hearing your preference.

Thanks, I am learning a lot by reading the brilliant discussions on this forum.

There are 2 types of antenna available, the round saucer shaped Wineguard and the "JacK" style tunable antenna. The performance of the Jack is supposedly better than the Winegard. That said I'm dropping the antenna as I never used mine, always had cable or watched movies on the dvd built in with the tv. I had both and the Jack does seem to pull in more over the air signals, but again you have to be near civilization to get the signals and more than likely cable will be available.

TV antenna

We usually have cable, but we are glad to have an antenna when we don't. We have the wineguard saucer and are happy with that one. We just have to remember to push the amp button when using the antenna.
