I can see that the U-shaped dinette is probably more comfortable for lounging, but don't dismiss the standard dinette as being uncomfortable without trying it out first hand. Ditto exactly. Pillow against the wall, feet up We've no desire for a U shaped dinette, both of us are quite comfortable with the conventional setup and still having the full size table, which sometimes is in full use.

Another vote for regular dinette . Think the space is a little too small for u dinette to be a improvement . Pat

Gbaglo the picture kind of pushes me toward the dinette. Things look tight. I'm 6ft. Well at least I used to be.

That's the front dinette in a 17'.
It's a two person dinette.

We made a last minute change from the u-dinette to the standard. After our recent 49 day trip we have no regrets.

We are able to lounge with a pillow behind the back feet up on the bench and still have the larger table. We keep a basket on the table with maps, local info, journal, and misc clutter and still have room for meals.

We also find the standard easier to get in and out of and less cramped feeling.

We have extra custom fabric however due to the late change, oh well.

Just a thought . If you need a picture let me know . You can make a nice shelf spanning across at the back and sitting on the ledge boards where you drop your table to make bed etc. we use that shelf for Kleenlex, books , I-pad , whatever . It will just sit there but if needed you can remove it . Pat

I've decided to go with the reverse 19' floor plan. The back will have the more spacious U-shape lounge and the table will be approximately 35" by 32" (as Sarah informed me). I plan on putting banquet style legs to the table so it can also be used outdoors and there won't be a base screwed to the floor. We'll have the smaller bed up front, but we're fine with that as we are not huge people and we'll have more use with the lounge area (more floor space for two dogs too!).

found some pictures so you can get the idea . I keep changing so just look at the shelf in the back . I have 2 ledge boards because I made a platform to raise up the floor and for right now left the Escape ledge for structural support , because I raised my dinette sitting also . The shelf can be removed . It hasn't in over 2 years . I also shortened my table . I can get you more pictures if needed . Pat
