Hit us last night too.

Picked up a Whitaker Wind Sculpture last winter in Santa Fe, wonder if he figured it'd work in the snow too. It still spins.

This was taken this am, we got about 9" but now it is going to be bitter, at least for our area, 26 high and 10 degrees low, for our neighbors up north, that is -3c to -12c. Now I realize this is not cold for our owners in Minnesota and Wisconsin, but it is for us here in Penciltucky.

Jim ; we woke up to 20 below zero F this morning ( Actual air temps) and 30 below windchills but we have bright sunshine . We have between 3ft & 4ft of snow on the ground with more on the way . Our trailers are trapped in our pole barn and the only way to get there is a 400 ft walk through waist deep snow .
Hope this makes you feel better !!

We are supposed to go above freezing on Saturday (35 deg F)
One day isn’t much but it’s enough to give us hope .

We have about a foot of snow on the ground, it rained on the snow and put quite a crust on it. What is “quite a crust” you ask? Well I can walk anywhere without breaking through. That’s hard snow. Took a ride to Belle Plaine yesterday about 30 miles. Saw a raccoon and two coyotes along with deer as the crepuscular hour approached. Pheasants are having a hard time finding food. Breeding owls are hooting every night now.

We had a EF-2 tornado touch down about 3/4 of a mile from the house last night.
Things could be worse.

Thanks
There were seven people injured at a gas/convenience store a little less than a mile away but much of the surrounding area is National Forest so fortunately most of the damage was to trees. Over the last seven years we've experienced major property damage from hail storms and ice storms in Montana and Georgia. Last June in South Carolina a neighbors tree destroyed my truck. I'm beginning to think I need a karma adjustment.
