A "cure" for jet lag?

Arrived in Munich for work this week and was a bit groggy from the jet lag. A colleague and I stopped by here for dinner. Just superb Wiener schnitzel and a very good local beer.

Didn't do much for the grogginess but wow was it good.

Wait until you have to order sausage by the meter (with a Half-meter minimum!). One of the best cities in the world for dining.

Go to the Chinese Garden, designed by an ex-pat Brit. Gorgeous park with historical basis, and there is a 2-story Chinese pagoda with booths below for beer & brats where the oompah German band plays every lunch time.

Love Munich - went there for an Oktoberfest party with 200,000 of my closest friends! Alles wunderbar!

Oh but I did! First course was a very nice salad with ripe tomatoes and a vinegar dressing.

It gets worse - I think it was built by a Danish firm in 1790. Seats 7500 people............

I usually prefer smaller biergartens but the Chineseischer Turm is a landmark and definitely worth the visit.

Thanks for that - a great tip.

Truth be told, I think I took care of the jet lag in one fell swoop last night. Except for getting up for an hour or so at 2 am, I slept from 7 pm to 5:30 am this morning. Feel super.

Went to Italy in May. When we arrived, jet lag lasted maybe a day. Coming home a month later, it took me a week to readjust.

Enjoy your trip - even though I don't figure it's for pleasure.

Except for the jet lag, our Viking River cruise on the Rhine was my all time favorite (non-Escape) vacation. Melatonin seemed to help us get over the jet lag faster than most folks we talked to, but nearly as much fun as this method!

Eric, thanks much for your comments. We are off to the Danube in Nov. for a Viking River Cruise. Late in the season, but dirt cheap tickets, so a good chance to try this out.

All of our other travel has been independent where we have figured out where to go and what to see. This will be the first time we are on an "organized" tour, and I have been a bit nervous since I like a bit of spontenanity every day...
