Took a look at the sound level on it as that seems to be the driving force in choosing one over the other.

All the WEN ads say "extremely quiet 51 decibels at quarter load", if you go to the WEN website it says "Noise rating 63 dB at 22 feet".

For comparison the Honda 2000i ads and website state "Noise LevelP: 59 dB at rated load 53dB at 1/4 load".

Fuel consumption for the WEN is "Run time on 50% load 4 hours".
Honda "3.4hr @ rated load 8.1 hrs @ 1/4 load"

I can't make much of a comparison, which is probably how they wanted it. Those are the only real differences I can see, other then a huge price difference, $400 vs $999 and 2yr vs 3yr warranty.

For how little I use the Honda now that I have solar, it would be hard to justify the difference in price.

Not such a deal in Canada, I can buy the Honda 2000 cheaper.
Cheers

I bought one of these on a Woot deal about 6 months ago to work on the trailers for $365. I had been borrowing a friends Honda until this popped. I use it to work on the trailers in storage and it runs for 6-8 hrs continuous including running the AC on my Scamp 19 while I work. After using both, I'd rate it equivalent to the Honda as far as noise level and usability and I'd give it high marks on fuel use. Filling it substantially less then I did the Honda. Not sure about longevity yet, but no big issues on that in the reviews to date and I could get three of these to one Honda.
Only con I can report is that it is a couple of inches taller side by side with the Honda, not a problem for me, but cud be for someone depending on carrying situation.

I doubt I'd ever buy a generator for my trailer but if I did, I would want to start it up and hear it first.

Amen. One man's quiet is another man's roar.

Yes, the Woot one when I got it only lasted an hour and they had hundreds of them.

I hear you, my "quiet" Honda sure sounds loud to me. And I run it in the covered truck bed with just the tail gate open.
