While I don't disagree, I bet there are lots of people, especially younger ones, that will be all over.

I like the camping bed cap they picture. Didn’t know they were going to offer a solar cap option, interesting.
Have to wait to see what transpires, but Jim is correct that the youngsters will be all over this.

Well, it's at least a 5th wheel! IMHO no more ugly than the insipid looking Cricket. Origami anyone? Looks like it's already been wrecked!

Check the link in the original post. Note that this is someone else's renderings of possible campers to match. They did not come from Tesla at all. Only the butt ugly truck is from Tesla.

I think "insipid" is way too polite. Can't print my opinion. I have a hard time believing something as ugly as this is actually produced.

The cyber truck 5th wheel must be made by someone who has never been in a 5th wheel or camper. Besides having to be 4.5 feet high so you bump your head, the bed (assume the usual front location) is sloped like a ski run, try staying in bed, maybe has a hammock?. I guess the trailer has a secret hidden door to get in/out, hidden pop-out handles? The front looks like it is designed to funnel all the air off the truck and shove it down in front of the trailer. I wonder if it has a poutine dispenser?

Now that might get me looking closer, Chris! [emoji16]

But yeah, no real thought to the design of the trailer at all.

Those crickets are mighty nice if you want to pull with a small capacity suv or sedan. I looked at one at a festival last summer. Nicely made if too expensive for what it is. I think it was being pulled by a Suburu Outback.

As depicted, I don't think the tow vehicle can make more than about a 15 degree turn without trashing both the tow vehicle and any of the concept trailers shown unless they have some funky tongue extension just for turning and maneuvering into camp sites.

That's okay - a trailer which won't be built for a truck which won't likely be built in that design doesn't really need to work.

It does seem strange to go to the trouble of modelling a trailer and then to render it is only one position. But then, this is a guy who makes an internet video by printing out images of his subject, tacking them on the wall, and pointing to them... not exactly the cutting edge of the vehicle design world.
