It takes me eight times longer to backup my truck and trailer than just my truck.
I think you have the wrong equation for the difficulty increase. Difficulty increases with the cube of the number of objects:
1 - tow vehicle = difficulty of one
2 - TV + trailer = difficulty of eight
3 - TV + 2 trailers = difficulty of twenty-seven
