Jim, hope you have a quick recovery. It must have been a bad fall to spend that much time in the hospital.

Bad news, but good news in that it sounds like you have a good prognosis. Don’t scrimp on the rehab, it is important and it works.

My 91-year-old mother checked herself out of rehab today. She had shattered her ankle. She was supposed to be there for two months, but after a month she declared herself healed. She's fine, she says, because she obtained some cannabis salve that works wonders.

Not sure if it is better than scotch, Jim. Maybe a little of both?

Thanks to everyone for your remarkable responses.

Rehab started yesterday and is being run by Alberta Health Care, and the girls I have met so far seem to be great and really know their stuff. They suggest that it will be 4-14 weeks of dealing with them all depending on how things go. I do still feel good mentally, but my physical well being in my lower back and pelvis do need a lot of repair and getting better.

After dealing with this first group, there is another group I deal with that will provide testing for my ability to drive and go back to work. It might be a much longer practice than I first thought, but I do need to make certain all is working fine.

Hi: Jim Bennett... It might be a lot better dealing with them than the alternative!!! Now is the time to "Do what you're told".

They are coming to my house 1-3 times a day to do the work needed. Unfortunately, very little physio will be done with this first group, as their main focus is determining the state of my brain after the damage.

Yeah, there is that one alternative that I am so glad did not happen. It would have been way worse of my family and friends.

Well ..hopefully, that means not a lot of appointments taking you to a bunch of different locations - that can be so tiring .......and recuperating is tiring enough on its own. We are thinking of you guys a bunch and wishing you a smooth transition back to normalcy ........not a good interruption that whole thing .......

get better soon

Jim,

I just saw the note about your fall. I hope you get better soon. do all the exercises , physical and mental, that the therapists tell you to do. With any luck you will be in tip top shape, and maybe wanting to make the trip to the Mississippi Rendevouz in ithe Fall.

best,

Leon

Jim, I am so sorry to hear about your fall! I have not been on the forum for awhile and this was the first I heard about it. Glad you are so committed to the physical therapy.

This is the first I’ve heard about your accident. Wish you a speedy 100% recovery. Although we’ve never met from your postings you seem to have a very positive, can do, get it done attitude which I’m sure will get you back to camping and work soon.
