Not in Wisconsin unfortunately, might be just your specific local PBS.

Billy Idol? I think you might want to research that a little more . Don't forget that Elvis' TCB drummer, keyboardist, and guitarist are holding it all together. Totally agree tho that this is a classic! I scored a used CD of this several years ago and play it frequently.

You are correct, Billy Idol, Kris Kristofferson, Patrick Swayze were in the audience. Did you catch the young KD Lang singing with Bonnie Raitt whom never seems to age.

I saw KD Lang last summer at a folk fest, she did great. Saw Bonnie Raitt a couple years back in the 8th row of the auditorium, that gal can still rock it out. We do lots of concerts, and I much prefer smaller venues, and am willing to pay to get closer to the band where the show is infinitely more enjoyable than using binos or watching a screen.

Saw John Hiatt and Lyle Lovett a month or so ago. They were great. Hiatt was not quite as good vocally as he once was yet still sang good. Lovett sounded good as ever. It was just the two of them with acoustic guitars.

Seen most of the country singers way back in 90's, The Judds, Hank Jr, Dwight,Garth, but camping now has taken their place. There is a cg in upper New York that has some big acts perform there, in Le Roy, NY The Ridge NY Recreation Area & Camp, Le Roy NY here is their summer line up this year.

Of course! It's not often that KD is second banana. It's Jennifer Warnes who I swooned over tho.

Careful now . While I was quick to admire your affinity for John Prine, I won't stand idly by if you dont express proper deference to Bob Wills, George Jones, or the likes of Conway Twitty, Lyle Lovett, or Gary P. Nunn et. al. But I'm quick to add that I can't thank you all enough for Leonard, KD, Rufus, Margo Timmins (❤️),Neil, or Kate McGonnegal among many others. It's all so, so good.

Old timers

Bob Wills and the Light Crust Doughnoys. Johnny Gimble. Patsy Montana, Ernest Tubb and the Texas TroubadorS and the whole crew of the Louisiana Hayride? How about Cowboy Copus?
Orbison was from Odessa Texas where Football was religion. He was not big nor very tough but understood the importance of Friday night high school football. He went to the coach who was also his history teacher and asked what he could do. The coach asked if he could sing and Orbison allowed that he could sing. "You'll sing the national anthem then". Which he did. Many years later this story was related by the coach. He said several times
"When Roy Orbison sang the National Anthem you knew It had been sung. The coach? The great Iowa Hawkeyes Coach Hayden Fry.

When you get into it, there were so many great performers and groups and the way
they were intertwined fascinates me. Years ago I read a biography on Bob Wills. The incident I remember best was when president Roosevelt was in a whistle stop tour they found out Bib Wills was playing 80 miles away. They switched their stops around so Roosevelt would not have to compete for audience with Wills because they were well aware who would outdraw who.

Sorry for that comment, Rich. I know how close you are to your horse.

I have listened to those artists a lot, and have great respect for anyone with talent. Country music is just not my go to, is all.

On your list there is Lyle Lovett, and though some see him as a country singer as he did do a bit of it, his talents are very broad, and tough to even categorize him. Great artist. Though a great song writer, one of my favourite songs of his was written by Steven Fromholz, Bears. Come sit around the campfire with it, my brother does a great rendition of it.
