Cats are really smart....

We have 4 rescue cats at home, of varying ages and backgrounds. Cat toys are prevalent throughout the home. The cats knew something was happening watching us take items out to the truck. So after driving for 2 days and arriving in Bismarck, ND, on the second night, I had this odd pain in my foot. Much to my surprise when removing my shoe, I found this cat toy on my toe. They must have colluded to insure that they would be thought of while gone.....

You are a lucky guy - your cats must think highly of you to give you one of their valued toys. One of our cats runs around the house playing with his toys all night, and often in the morning we find a little pile of them right at the bedroom door that he left for us.

Or sometimes we find them when we step on a squeaky mouse on our way to the bathroom in the middle of the night....

Our orange tabby didn't play much with toys when growing up. She was rescued from a barn, no mama or sibs around. Came home at about 3 or 4 weeks old and proceeded to boss the other two cats around. 17 years old now and still ignores the toys we buy for her (after beating them up a bit when we take them out of the package). The scratching post is another story. Those last about a month before I'm gluing them back together.
