Do you like toast?

I recently purchased a new toaster for the house and I wanted to let others know about this fantastic product. West Bend 77224 is the product number available at Amazon and Walmart or any other department store, $40. It has a bagel setting that toasts only the one cut side and not the outside. So your bagel is hot and buttery on one side while soft on the outside. Really makes a difference. In addition it is fast, done in less than a minute. It also has a button for gluten free toasting. Tried it with english muffins, wow the flavor is totally different. Going out tomorrow to get some more english muffins. I'm a toast junkie now that my dough is properly toasted.

Looks like a good toaster Jim. When I am in Chicago overnight , I have a pizza at Geno’s east
And the next morning I hit the Chicago Bagel Authority up in the Boystown neighborhood. They have steamed bagels with the greatest variety of concoctions I’ve ever experienced. If you google this restaurant you’ll be able to peruse their menu. This will give you ideas for building a bagel sandwich with components you might not have previously considered. Yours for perfect toasting

You do realize toasters have had a bagel setting for a long time, right? The gluten free is a new one to me.

Yes our older toaster had the wide slots for bagels, but the new one toasts only one side of the bagel, where the older one did both sides.I thought that feature was new?

I thought you were suppose to toast the outside of the bagel too.

That's how they do it in the bagel shops.
I don't eat toast any more often than every day.

Does it have a "Popcorn" setting?

Not new - I haven't bought a toaster for a decade and both of ours have a setting for one-side-only.

we have a 4-slot Cuisineart toaster thats probably 20 years old, with extra wide slots, its bagel setting still runs the 'outside' element but only on low, while the inside elements are on normal/high, so the outside of the bagel only gets lightly toasted while the cut side gets nicely browned. We retired it to reclaim the counter space, because we found we used the toaster-oven far more often.

I like burned. If the smoke detector doesn't go off, it's not done.

I like those wire camp stove toasters. I find I like the fact that timing has to be near perfect to rotate and flip the bread to get perfect slices and if concentration wavers you earn sear mark wire induced tattoo scars. Real men may not eat quiche but they do make camp stove toast barehanded, and it’s wonderful. C’mon Nutella,
