Everything's Bigger In Texas? Nope - Try Canada
In Ontario this week and next, and I have to say, Ontarians know how to EAT. Huge portions. I don't know how they expect me to eat all that in one sitting, and I ain't no wimp - I'm from Texas....
The Pork Chop alone in my dinner tonight was 16 ounces. A pound Pork Chop? Sheesh!

Consistently biggest meals I've gotten were in Dallas, after 3 days I had to say uncle.

Here in Iowa those are called Iowa Chops. They are cut to weigh about a pound. They are marketed as " an inch and a quarter of pure pork pleasure". I bought two this afternoon that were adjacent cuts and they cost $3.54 at 1.77 per pound. So they weighted exactly a pound each. On the Weber I cook them bone down, standing vertical with the fat cap on top for about 45 minutes at 425 or so. Glad to hear you are getting enough to eat.

In my part of Wisconsin they are also referred to as " Iowa Chops"
When we were in the South one winter my wife sent me to the store to get some pork chops. The pork chops in the meat counter were labeled thick cut but you could almost see through them . I asked the butcher if they sold "Thick Cut Pork Chops" and described what I wanted. . The butcher remarked " Thems not a pork chop ,thems what we call a roast".
