I saw a group of them at the Iowa fair years ago. There was a very good group in Kansas too. Up in north central Iowa there is a little farm town with, as usual, a very wide Main Street that is not a highway. In the old days stores stayed open on Friday night, farmers brought chickens, eggs, vegetables etc. to town.
A few years ago the local tractor square dance group asked Permission to practice on Main Street. Granted permission they started to practice. Then local classic car and rod guys came in and started showing cars regularly. Pretty soon it was a reunion every week through the summer and was good for the whole area. Those old hand clutch tractors take a little getting used to. They can be a little jumpy like a new girlfriend until you get to know them better. I been going with the same lady for over 50 years and she still don’t completely trust me.
