Graupel... it is graupeling....
We are experiencing graupel this weekend. It's core is a clump of snowflakes that were surrounded by ice (from super cooled water) high up in the cloud where temperatures are below freezing, really cool.

I’ve grappled with graupel as late as a couple months ago. It’s only a matter of time before ice cream people invent a flavored, mostly water product, with some flavoring and tell us it’s all natural. I have had a slushie beer while ice fishing a few times. Not bad but not that good either. Here it will be about 55 degrees today with a 9mph SE wind. Just right for burning the little prairie if it’s dry enough. About 30
days till our first camping excursion to the south (Iowa).

Hi: Iowa Dave... You haven't really graupeled with anything till you grappel with an "Ice wine slushie" at The Ice House on Niagara Parkway just outside of Niagara on the lake. The ice wine chocolates are nothing to sneeze at either. The Icehouse - Niagara's Premium Icewine - Ice Slushies Alf

I got one of those our last time, very refreshing and since it came in a styrofoam cup and lid I took it outside and drank it while driving back to the cg, then realized I was drinking and driving....eeekkk! They are really good and cooling...too good.

I broke out the shorts an T shirts a week ago but we're still a little cooler than normal. The Masters is only about three weeks away and unless it warms up a bit the dogwoods might be missing.

Hi Alf
Just like that old Crosby song, this year you’ll look around and notice the Grey ghost is gone and the big boy too. And you’ll ask and the answer will be that someone saw him heading up the parkway a little bit ago. His bride was driving and he was paraphrasing “Gone drinking Za Zoo Zazza Zazza Zoo “
