I received an email the other day from someone saying they had all my information and the password to a pornsite I visit as well as photos and video from my webcam. And unless I pay them they were going to send the information to all my family and friends.
Only a few minor problems with that.
#1 I do not visit porn sites.
#2 I do not have a web cam or any imaging device on my computer.
#3 The password they had in the subject line is the one from when Yahoo was broken into that I changed after I was notified about it. I do not recycle or repeat passwords. So that tells me whoever send the email has the passwords from the Yahoo break in.
What they are counting on is a lot of people use the same password on most sites they visit. So seeing their password displayed in the subject line might be enough to scare them into paying.
just thought I'd mention this scam in case someone else on here gets the email from them.
Here is a link to Tampa news mentioning it that I found while looking to see if this was known about.
