It is cyber Monday
and what is everyone planning to buy on line for their Escape? Any good buys out there? With more searching there is more chances of finding that "I did not know I needed that until I saw it on line" item.

While not explicitly for my Escape, I find a good pair of work/outdoor gloves to be an indispensable article on the packing list for every outing. Ironclad has come to be a go to firm for me for their their technically excellent yet reasonably priced handwear. They have a few sales events throughout the year, including right now, with 50% off on many models. I shall be adding some new items both for myself and the wife today. http://ironclad.com/

I'm a fan of Lee Valley Tools--they are having a sale (34" coated industrial twist ties, 3 for $4, usb 6' extension cable 2 for $7, rubbermaid 10" shelf helper $7, 20 ft tie down camstrap 4 for $22.50 and many more) And there are always nice holiday gifts in the catalog for the woodworker/gardener/tinkerer on your list. Their suction hooks--really heavy duty and haven't failed me yet, rated to 22 lbs--are great, too.

But on the other hand, aging can bring on sillyness. I think I'll get a couple of the exhaust tips and mount them under the rear corners of our Escape.  (Then, I'll have to get a rear facing camera to record the facial expressions on following drivers! oh, such fun.)

We went to a few stores today to buy some hiking items. Found the stores we hit, Dick's, & EMS (REI wannabe), had the same sales going in store as they had on line. At least the items we bought were available both ways.
No crowds.

Also a symptom of maturity , self control , common sense, and healthy self worth !
I know nothing of Cyber Monday , here in Northern Wi today is Monday November 27th or the first Monday after deer season.
This is the week when we bake the fruitcake for Christmas 2018 , and one of my favorite times of the year.

I did buy lunch today, but that was in person and not online, so I guess it does not count.

I have seen a number of Escape owners talking about the Anderson hitches. Don't see them on any special price today but was wondering what people think of them and are they worth the approximately $100-$150 premium over trunnion style WD hitches?

I like mine alot. Have had zero issues with it, and there's no grease to contend with. But as to whether it's worth the price difference, that's hard to say.

When they first appeared they were available for around $300, now they are about $150 more than that.

In 2014 we paid Escape $525 for ours; not sure when/where you saw them for $300. We had big problems with components flat-out wearing out after about 15-20K miles. Now have the basic Pro Series and it is easier to use IMO and with the longer stinger it solved our tailgate opening problem as well.

Price list shows $350 for "Equalizer" hitch, which was actually Pro Series. And, that's what I paid in 2008.

My first one was $329 in 2012 and in 2014 I paid $450 for another one, both were sold with the Escapes. The 2014 had a 7" universal frame bracket which was always slipping. I stopped at the factory in 2014 in Idaho Falls on the way to Osoyoos and they installed the smaller 4.5" bracket gratis. As Andersen grew, so did their choice of brackets became more custom to your trailer vs the "universal, one size fits all"
