Jim, I hate to tell you that you do have an accent, but then I was born in the old country and therefore everyone here has an accent.

I guess everyone everywhere has an accent depending on where you are from and where you are speaking. But that's the charm of it, we all get to appreciate the diversity that exists!!

It’s a shortened version of the collective All Y’all. And when someone is impressed by an individual feat which the friends of said individual have observed and are not surprised their assessment is usually “He did what he do”.

Being from and growing up in Newfoundland, there were folks there that I could not understand. My grandfather being one of them.

Someone I recently met asked me, "Wash your hat" Had no idea what he was saying and later realized he was asking "What are you at". or "What have you been up to lately?" Which is a common greeting there.

So if anyone visits Newfoundland and someone asks you "Wash your hat", just respond with a " not much b'y."

PS. I wasn't wearing a hat.
