I made the Griswold pie and was told it's a bit too sweet and the chocolate seems to not fit. So I used the original maple pie and added the cup and a half of pecans and that is a lot better. I'm wondering if walnuts would work as well. Guess next pie I'll check and see.

9 inch pie crust.
1 1/2 cups pecans
Spread pecans on bottom of the pie.

1 1/2 cups maple syrup
6 TBSP butter
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 TBSP flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
Boil syrup 5 minutes
Add butter then cream then flour and salt.
Beat eggs into it and pour into the pie crust.
Bake at 350F for 1 hour.

I whipped some cream and sweetened it with maple syrup to top it with.
I am not eating them, I'm feeding the neighbors and getting their response so I'll know which to make next time Mom wants pies.
Wife is on a diet and I do not eat high carb items.

I was pretty happy that I chose the career that I did. However, if a person could land a job as a pie taster, ice cream taster, or any of those good things to eat taster, it would not seem to be a bad gig. Friend of my sonsís who we used to fish with, drives new prototype Audiís all over the country and writes reports on their performance. They use his descriptions in their advertising. Heís an Ohio State grad. Another pretty good gig.

I think I would not mind Li'l Abner's job.
I heard he just kind of fell into it.
His other job no, I do not want to cut crescents for the little wonder privy co. Mr Bennett is a better woodworker.

A maple syrup pie and a key lime pie were brought to the potlucks at Scamp camp. Both vanished very quickly so I guess people like them.
I do not know if Alf got to try the Key Lime, I think he was admiring his new trailer accessory.

OK I'll bite, what did Alf get?

Less than four weeks and we'll see you at GE&H, can hardly wait to get away from our long cold winter!

We go to a local Franco-Manitobain fall supper and have tortiere and sugar pie, yum.
