More Rain? Enough Already.

Torrential rain and thunder outside right now. Flash Flood Warning in effect until 8:15 pm. Lord, we've had enough rain here for awhile.

True. We're loving it here in Austin though. Lake Travis is up 23 feet last time I checked, highest level in years. Looking forward to camping out there in my Escape!

Yeah, it's crazy. Haven't seen this much rain over an extended period of time since I came to South Texas in the early 90's. The good news is that the Edwards Aquifer District says the drought is over.

The weather channel keeps showing the Florida Panhandle in the rainy area, but at our house we've only had 1 1/2" in the last month - we're drying up and blowing away! Last year at this time was about when we had 26" in one 24 hour period - quite a difference a year makes.

Oh how I wish you could send us some. I just drove from LA to Sacramento, and except for the farming it is already super dry. We are going to be in dire straits if we don't get sufficient rain this year.

Yes and the fires have already started in our area. Latest fire was in the windy Altamont Pass and the nearby mountains of almond hulls have ignited and are still burning slowly.

Someone on the news pointed out that Texas had been in a drought as well and now they're inundated. While we need rain, we don't need it all at once.

Sending thoughts and prayers to those that have been affected by this unbelievable weather/rain. Stay safe.

Just about one year ago Pensacola had 26" of rain in 24 hours! We're used to heavy rains, but that was ridiculous.

Right now I'm in Buffalo, Wyoming at a cg where the wind is blowing 40-60 gusts and the sky is black. I'm glad I'm in a heavy trailer, some tents were already sent sailing.

It's raining in Spokane, WA, with flash flood warnings in the region.

Thanks Mike! I did get the lawn mowed this morning before the rain started -it had really grown quickly in our time away! Did you find a good camping spot here in Spokane?
Hope you got your water troubles fixed ok.
