In the 1980s novel "Warday" Canada seizes Alaska from the U.S. after the Soviet Union hits the U.S. with a "limited" nuclear strike. The book is pretty good, and probably gives an accurate protrayal of the state of the country after such an event. It's pretty grim.

I flew over Greenland today. It wasn't green, all ice and snow.
If the US were to take over Greenland would the state motto be "Make Greenland green again"?

Hi: Ron in BC... I think the US. is just "Green" with envy!!! NFLD has the right idea. Turn the icebergs into beer. Gotta love that Iceberg Beer made from 20,000 year old iceberg water at Quidi Vidi Brewery in St. John's. Alf

Pabst's then-new owners promptly shut down the 150 year old brewery and outsourced production to Miller, 20 years ago or so. They did the same with Rainier's and dozens of other classic old school regional and national brands.

A fellow gave me some Blue Ribbon at Christmas one year. About 4 moths later a guy who worked for me and didn’t drink needed some beer for a turf fertilizer concoction he was working up. I fixed him up.
Q. “What’ll you have?”
A. “Anything but Blue Ribbon!”
