I used to buy a fair bit from B&H, but have found that even though they offer free shipping to Canada now, that I can negotiate a price nearly as good from a local store, The Camera Shop. I was in NYC a couple days ago (Sunday), and thought about going there to shop, but I really don't need more camera gear, in fact I need to thin it out some. Dragging along a huge Pelican case full of gear when only a small part gets regular use does not jive with me, especially now that I am giving up an SUV to haul it in.

If you buy a Nikon camera on trip to Japan and it needs work, Nikon Canada will not touch it. Same if the camera was sold by Nikon US.

My first NIkon digital was a P&S bought in the US, and I had an issue with it, and had to send it to a US service centre, so when I got into digital SLR gear, I went with Cannon partially because the warranty is international.
