Rain

Happened to get a news feed out of New York State this morning regarding the Rice Creek dam at
Oswego N.Y. and thought about everybody’s favorite Escape blogger Jon Vermilye. Stay safe Jon. And anyone else in the many parts of this rain soaked USA and Canada. Turn around—- don’t drown. Four on the Low side for mud Alf and Easy does it.

The water is no longer overflowing Rice Creek dam, and they opened County Rt 89 this morning. Rice Creek enters Lake Ontario about 1 mile from my house.

I'm safe, but Lakeshore Road (my street) currently dead ends at the swamp just down the road. No longer a swamp, but a river. I did have to go out in the rain a couple of times to clear the driveway drain - a bit of water in the garage...

Could be worse. The Theatre Department where I used to work had close to $1,000,000 worth of brand new equipment stored in the lab theatre. Yesterday, the water was 3" - 4" deep in the room, with audio & lighting equipment on the floor.

For some sad photos, check out my replacement's post: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater

Keep safe...
Here in the southern interior of BC we have had one of the driest springs ever. However the temperature dropped a few days ago and there was snow on some Hwys.

Wolf creek pass

Hi Jack
Pulled that pass twice about three years ago and coming back a trucker had lost a load over the side and they were attempting to clean it up. Looked like a cardboard box landslide. We’re heading out in the AM.

Rained a little in Iowa today and a few sprinkles in the first 300 miles of Nebraska. Thought we’d stay in Cozad till I coined a new slogan for them. Cozad : Stinks Bad.
So we’re in Gothenburg NE. Might have to go for a RUNZA.
