tents-rv

I started with a Mazda rotary truck with a camper top finished off the inside with foam and rug and two side chairs .Went then to a old tent ( given to me) Then we did boat camping with to many boats to count .Then we found fiberglass RV and bought a Lil Snoozy we loved it but to small for long stays with Dog and Grandkid
So we moved on to an Escape 21 . It does everything we need it to do Sleeping and eating for 4 and an easy tow .

Jim, mine is a high res flat bed with templates that I can accept several slides or strips of negatives. I get is started and it grinds away on them for quite a while. Was pretty expensive when I got it but I think they have come down in price.

So, I'll start it off with my first from 1973 shown here on the beach at Padre Island and in whatever LA suburb my brother was living in back then.

As you can see it was an aerodynamic marvel!
Many years backpacking. Then in 2014 we got an Aliner that made lifer easier for my wife. Now a 2013 Escape 19' purchased used on this forum so the prior owner can upgrade to a 2017 5TA. Thanks Rich!

Ok, #4 a Deluxe Side Dinette Scamp. I am going to refrain from saying much about it out of my deep respect for Donna!

Oh phoo. I know all the short comings of my Scamp. BUT, I have to be honest, I think the woodwork in my 1988 Scamp is better than the woodwork in Ten Forward. And that's hard to say....

Jim, I recommend trying to find a good used Nikon film scanner. I have the big one that will scan medium-format film; I must have bought the last one they made. I still shoot film on occasion so I still use it. The scanner works great, but I dread the day it needs parts or repair. Nikon also made smaller scanners for 35mm film and slides. They no longer make scanners.

A man of my taste. A used Nikon Coolscan is at the top of the list.

Found both on eBay, paid too much for both, both required major rehab- hull patching and rotted floors, both were too small, (both went across the continent), and both were great fun.

In late 1998 bought a 1993 Coleman Popup. Sold it in 2003 and bought a 2004 TrailCruiser 21RBH Expandable Hybrid. Sold it in 2011 and bought a Forest River Surveyor 275. Sold it in 2016 and ordered an Escape 21. Of our trailers my wife would say she always missed the popup. And did a couple of years of tent camping before the popup.

I rented a motorhome for a month. Does that count? I knew I didn't want to purchase a motorhome but didn't want to get the FJ set up for towing a rental trailer in case I didn't like the lifestyle.

Jayco Redhawk - boy was that a beast to drive down the road and noisy! OMG! Noisy! But I took it all the way from Seattle to the Sacramento area on I5 and then back along Hwy 1 and 101, with a week's stay in Coos Bay OR.

Lucy came with and had a great time.

Several years later (almost) we now have our 21' and am ready to rumble (almost).

In my Scamp's woodwork I really liked the 3/4" too long screw tips sticking into all the upper cabinets... stop it Eric!

2006 Starcraft 18SB hybrid, best I can do for pictures is a link to one that's for sale. 2006 Starcraft Travel Star 18SB - Family Camping Outlet

Spent the 1st 4 weeks of retirement lifting the body off the floor so the plywood flooring could be replaced. A few months later rumors of the 5.0TA were leaked.

Hi: All... 1977 Boler. Paid more in 2006 than it sold for new ($2895.)
2 years and bought a gently used 2007 5.0 Escape
6 years and ordered a new 2014 5.0TA Escape.
Now retired and reaping the benefits of my toil. Alf

1. A Coleman pop-up (had for several years, but sold when first child was born)
2. An Aliner (the first year they were manufactured; i.e., a first edition! (sold when kids no
longer wanted to go camping)
3. A second Aliner (purchased two years before retirement and sold when decision was
made that it was too small to meet our needs)
4. A Shoddily Constructed And Maintenance Plagued FG trailer manufactured by
(as Tammy would say), SOB. (Euthanized, to put me out of my misery!)
5. My 5.0TA, which is far superior to the previous 4, particularly number 4.
