St Patrick’s Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone. I had to go the the store for some cabbage and ran into an old friend. He was dressed in green and headed for the parade in Downtown Cedar Rapids. He asked me why you can never borrow money from a Leprechaun? I did not know. He said it’s because they are always a little short!
Rimshot please.

Groan, makes me green with envy that I don't have a friend with jokes like that.

My son Clayton Emory is coming over for Bangers and mashed and to watch the selection Sunday show. He’s played quite a bit of basketball and it’s fun to watch a game with him. He sees things I didn’t even know happened and he rarely gets a call wrong. I’ll probably watch some games with him this week if he’s not too busy.

Dinner

That’s a real pretty dinner. I’m sure it tasted as good as it looked. The Bangers and mashed were tasty and we had a cabbage and bacon dish too. Dessert was a frosted brownie with a kiss of Baileys Irish Creme.
Time for a nap.

funnily enough, the actual Irish ex-pats I've known look askance at the American version of St Patricks day.

Dave a belated happy St Pats day to you and Rita we celebrated by attending our second Grren Eggs and Ham. Lots of fun and good eats.
