Stolen Scamp

STOLEN SCAMP ALERT | Scamp Owners International

This one was taken from a driveway in Sumner, WA on Fri nite. Lots of Escape folks in that area, let's find this trailer!

Thanks for posting the information Greg. After the rash of "stuff" that was from that one individual on FiberglassRV, I was hesitant to post anywhere else. I believe members here are a lot more reasonable however.

Terrible that someone would do this. With the pics of the vehicle used to drive away with your Scampi and the trailers description, they should go along way to helping the authorities bring this person to justice. Hoping you get it back quickly.

I think you misunderstood Mike. The trailer doesn't belong to either Greg or myself. He was just posting the information so people can keep an eye out.

Gotcha, well either way I hope the owner gets their trailer back and the thief gets some jail time. Thanks for clarifying Donna D.

I believe this came from some people saying that there is no reason to do anything to prevent a trailer from being stolen because they rarely are. No comfort to the owner of that one. With that photo of the vehicle, hope they find it.

Looks like an early-nineties Chevy Suburban.

Seriously, they were saying that after it got stolen? That pretty lame and insensitive, to put it mildly.

I know I'll keep my eye out for a small Scamp, since it's kind-of, sort-of in my neck of the woods. But for how long is the question.

I did a major cleanup on that thread, and hopefully got rid of the (many) posts that were not in context.

Hopefully this trailer gets returned.

To reduce confusion added by intermediaries, you can read the Facebook page of the originator of the report.

I agree that the tow vehicle is a 1992-1999 Chevrolet Suburban.

Hello,
How do I get in touch with the owner? I live in Seattle and travel back and forth to Bend Oregon often. I was coming back to Seattle on Highway 97 and about 20-30 miles north of Madras OR a Scamp trailer similar to this one was parked on the side of the highway. I was tempted to stop because it felt really strange. You never see these trailers on the side of the road.

Hi: advenas... Report it to the State Troopers. They'll investigate I'm sure. Alf

Rick,
Call Oregon State Police and report your suspicions, along with the posted background info on the trailer theft.

Thanks Don and Theresa....I called the Oregon Highway Patrol and let them know a possible stolen trailer could be on the side of the road near Madras OR, etc. Gave them the mileage from town, license number from the Scamp website, etc. Would be nice to get it back to the owners.

No, such comments were made previously and someone apparently thought that that had to do with comments made after. Someone was pretty well saying that it was just a report on the Internet that perhaps should not be repeated. Thougt it was perhaps false, I guess. The report gave the license number and, of course, Donna has shown the photos. Could be that this party soon found his TV photos were out there with trailer attached. Hope it is the one on the side of the road.
