Thank you everyone for their kind comments. We decided to have Franklin cremated and the remains returned to us. We plan to bring "Franklin" and Hershey with us on our trip to Chilliwack and Osoyoos Rally (their 4th Osoyoos Rally together) and that way he will still be with us in spirit.

Sorry for your lost. Said goodbye to our Phoebe last year. (16 yo rescue). Nothing quite like a good dog! Lots of great memories.

Sorry for your loss. It sounds like you had a lot of good times together over the years and that Franklin had a good life.

So sorry

Losing a pet is the absolute worst. They are our constant companions who love us unconditionally. There's almost no greater loss

Jim

Very sorry to hear that you had to put Franklin down. Having briefly met him when we were in York last summer, we know how much he meant to you and Noelia. Our thoughts are with you.

Hello Jim.
So sorry to hear about your beloved pet. This is our first trip without Lola the wire fox terrier.Had to put her down on Feb 1st at age 13.Heart went bad.Feels like I am still seeing her in the trailer or trying not to step on her at night in the house. She gave us so much of herself.I am sure she did 40.000 miles with us.Loved travelling in car or truck. We are getting to old to get another dog.It seems to help to have large pictures around the house to remind us of those happy days with her.
Take care Jim.

Yes, tis tough. Thanks for honoring Franklin by sharing story and pic. I will have my first trip without Jackson (Aussie-Border Collie, don't know how to attache photo, bummer) in a couple weeks. E-13B will seem empty. Like Franklin, a good, long life.

Our Fury Babies

I'm very sorry for your loss. It was wonderful and inspirational to hear of all your travels with Franklin. Your stories are inspirational because I have four dogs. We did our first week long trip to CA and it was wonderful! I feel even closer to them and cannot imagin traveling in the 21' without them.

Take care and know that Franlin will be waiting for you two to meet again.

We brought Franklin home today and had a little memorial service at home with Hershey. Noelle found a nice accessory for the box.

So very sorry to here if your loss Jim. We had to put down our lab / blue healer mix brother and sister at 13 and 14. It is very hard to let them go but you know when it is time it is the right thing to do for them.

Our hearts...

When we give our hearts to beings with shorter lifespans than our own, we do end up heartbroken. Every time I have it was worth it. Sounds like it was with Franklin.
Pleased you knew him, sorry he's gone.
