Heck yes, a good plate of brisket is music to the taste buds of a carnivore! I'm paying about $8/pound here in Lalaland. Wonder if washing one down with Labatt's would ruin it?

Tex, check the Casita forum. I'll bet one of those Texans has a mod for a compact smoker that doubles as a ice chest or something!

Anyone price chicken wings lately? I curse the day Buffalo Wild Wings (et. al.) turned them into a delicacy.

Every Friday the local pub here has 8 wings for a $1 and $1 drafts during happy hour. I come home really happy.

That's quite a bargain! What's on tap for $1; Schmidts?

But Greggo,
You have Carnivore Heaven close by: the Far Western Tavern, formerly in Guadalupe, now in Orcutt.

Nope, it's gone "yuppie" since the move. Hitchin' Post is still good if you want to shell out $50 bucks for a ribeye, not me! Best BBQ in the western US (outside of Texas of course!) is in my backyard! Here's a point cut brisket and pork shoulder doing their business in my smoker. 6 hours in the smoker, 3 hours in the oven and 2 minutes on my plate! (a worthy diversion from trailertalk! Anybody want to get back to taking showers or whatever the he*l we were talking about?).

.
That is disappointing. We had been going to the original since 1971.

Looks and sounds good ( my mouth's watering ).
I think showers were on the other food thread. This one is Alf's "Escape Food News Network", "Escape from Real Food Network" or something like that.
