Just had to announce that the Syracuse, NY Post Standard did a full page spread this morning in their food section on Poutine. They even listed 5 local restaurants that serve it.

Obviously, the Post Standard is a paper with good taste.

Not only has Poutine made it to Syracuse, but it is now being introduced to Rudy's, my favorite fish stand on Lake Ontario:

I'm not sure what "Sidewinders" but they seem to be some kind of french fry...

Egads, no matter how many times you think that a stake has been driven through Poutine's heart he still comes back to life.

I think that I'd rather have the Spam.

I found my favourite poutine in Osoyoos...

In fairness I should try some other places for complete knowledge of the 'scene.

@cpa ... "Glorious Spam" LOL.

Pulled pork, please. Tried that for the first time a couple years ago. So good.

I do like Spam though.

Hmmmm,
I tried poutine a couple of times this past year. While I enjoy all of the components separately, I cannot honestly say that I felt it was all that outstanding. Sorry. I can't get past the gravy wetted fries I guess. Now, I do enjoy, spam, all flavors, scrapple ( fried with Jalapeño peppers) on the side as prepared by Chef James Norman of York, and all foods Czech. But I'm going to keep trying poutine with the hope that I may luck onto a recipe variation that is outstanding. The resurrection of the thread reminds me of the cult classic car movie Christine.

Yes Jim. Petro Can. Not overly greasy and hot fries FTW.

I should try the Owl and Conviva for full effect tho.

New bucket list item: trying Mickie D's "p". I saw it on the menu at this year's rally.

On Vancouver's Granville Street there may be 5 poutine restaurants. Come on by for a scoop or two.

Hi: All... Just read that the Whitehouse is serving Poutine at the State dinner for the PM. of Canada. It'll be made with duck, cheese, and gravy. Alf

The article went on to say the Canadian PM will receive 33% less poutine than the US attendees.

Don't know if using duck in the poutine is an improvement or not but Nanaimo bars with a coconut filling

Nah. The only way to improve poutine would be to serve "virtual" poutine. Besides, the latest research indicates potato (carbohydrate) consumption can promote lung cancer. Now I understand why I felt like I was going to die when I sampled poutine in Montreal many years ago.

If poutine had it's own sub-title, it could be filed under General Topics and it could be accessed anytime a forum member has nothing of value to contribute.
