Tonight's White House state dinner

On the menu for tonight's White House state dinner for Prime Minister Trudeau: poutine. Really.

Heavens no! It is a real, well really, great thing! Almost fitting as a religious symbol.

Well, then I'll have to give it a try.

People always make fun of Haggis but, after trying it, I found it was actually quite tasty. (I do draw the line at Black Pudding, however ...)

Same for me. I think the sheep's stomach puts people off, but you don't actually eat that part, even if the haggis is so authentic that it is actually prepared with that casing. I still haven't tried poutine... and apparently it wasn't actually on the state dinner menu, either.

So where does a California boy find cheese curds? It's a long way to Wisconsin!

Someone who seemed reliable, told me cheese curds are unaged mozzarella bits.

No Poutine on the menu here (in Cheshire UK this week) but lots and lots of blood sausage. Yuck.

And I really like Kimchi, which is fermented (half rotten to some) vegetables!

I believe that the Red Rooster Cafe might offer that...
