A 20 volt rechargeable battery. I did not follow just how it works. Does it maintain cooling off the battery? I know it could not cool completely with that. Or is the battery for all the charging features?

The battery is for the interior light and the blender and the bluetooth speaker as well as recharging your device.

nobody wants to steal this campers cooler..about 20 years old and probably didn't cost $20 when new....these days those Yeti and other high dollar ice haulers are targeted by thieves..
