I figured out if you want to give stuff away and leave it outside marked "free" no one takes it. But if you leave it outside with a $5-$10 price tag, it will disappear quickly.

You must not have the gatherers that we have down here. If it has any metal in it it will quickly vanish when you set it out. I've learned if I dispose of a large object to set it out a few days early and it it's still here the day before garbage day then I call in.

Ours works either way. So far we've disposed of a mattress, a chair, a bookcase, a filing cabinet, and a few other odds and ends by just placing them curbside. By the morning they are usually gone.

All this talk about cleaning out unneeded stuff got me thinking if there's anything around that I have that I haven't used for awhile.

I've a bit of stuff like some Meccano bits and pieces and an .049" model airplane engine that have been around since I was about 10. But who knows, maybe one day I'll make a model Escape out of Meccano or get a rat tail comb and play flip the prop on the little engine. OK, enough thinking about getting rid of stuff. I'll think about it again sometime.

Couldn't get my daughter to toss her soccer trophies even though she moved out several years earlier.
I lined up a dozen of them on a table and shot a picture. Tossed the trophies and emailed her the picture.

That's ok Ron. I mean, if good things come to those who wait, isn't procrastination a virtue?

If you don't use it then is not worth taking with you. But then again, if you are like me, you just might need it when you didn't take it along.

We have a 10x10 screen tent that has it's own large carry-bag. We push it through our 19's rear pass-through, to the very rear. It stays there year-round, ready for the next trip. Do you have room there? We use it on all our camp trips to avoid mosquitos, flies and once in a while, bees.

Isn't that the truth! I carry far too many tools & spare parts, but it is amazing what I end up using (or giving to someone). I did decide to leave my manometer home on my last trip since I had not used it for the previous 4 years. Sure enough, someone was looking for one at Quartzsite last year.
