Yes, we were both lucky you bringing and me returning. Let's keep our contraband to the liquid type, of course we will not have the full array as we are driving out solo and space is at a premium in the truck bed. Don't forget our traditional Thursday night at The Sage Pub.

You need to explain the Sage pub to first timers. Let them know it’s where you get sage advice.

Sorry Jim, not planning on Osoyoos this year. Our only trek westward will be to the Inyan rally in SD.

Dead end Street “the hawk”

I always like to hear Lou Rawls perform Dead End Street when it gets cold, especially when I’m around Chicago. “Don’t be wearing those galoshes to bed and tearin up my bedclothes”
From 1967, they’re not writing them like that anymore. And if they are, they don’t sell.

Hi Alf
We used to buy those Titan milk house heaters to keep plumbing apparatus from freezing where we didn’t want to heat a whole building and had to have water to flood ice rinks. They worked pretty good. Sometimes if it was real critical to have water we’d put two in there and set one warmer than the other. If the primary conked out, the assistant would come to the fore. They would spin the meter but it wasn’t my meter. I referred to our all concrete winter quarters “heated by titans” for our native North American waterfowl as Duckow once to a reporter doing a story on zoos in the winter. Got in a little trouble that time. Sorry if I offended with this story.

Just listened to a weather report from my home town (Oswego, NY). 2°F, going down to double digit below this afternoon, and 5' of snow by Friday. Glad to be in Quartzsite!

For 88 cents a can. I buy about 75 cans. Then make sure I have a couple hundred pounds of meat in the freezer. Last week, eggs were 77cents a dozen and I saw the cold weather coming in. The layers don’t do well when it gets real cold and the price will go to about two bucks a dozen or a little better so I bought 5 dozen. We used to buy a 30 dozen case when I was a kid and keep them upstairs for several months. I buy those Amish bean mixes in the fall and keep them in fruit jars. Nothing like a couple ham hocks and a good bean soup. I think I’ll be ok Jim, gonna make a big deer chili for the Super Bowl. It’ll be warmer by then.

The dog doesn’t seem to mind, my kind wife on the other hand suggests I spend time in the lower level, garage or outside. Some folks say it’s not chili if it’s got beans in it, others don’t agree. I can cook, plow snow, cut trees and

“Last Thursday, temperatures soared to 46.6 deg C in Adelaide, breaking a record for the city set decades ago. In Port Augusta, a town just to the north of Adelaide, the mercury hit 49.5 deg C the same day.”
That’s 121.1 deg F — very warm on the other side of the globe.

Well, according the the weather prognosticator, Punxsutawney Phil, our winter is over and spring will be here. The weather forecast for next week is calling for temperatures in the 50's.
I'm ready.....our new E21 will be completed in 12 weeks and 3 weeks after that we will be enroute to pick it up and head to Osoyoos. It has been a long 11 month staycation here.
