I had this warmed up piece of a frozen supreme pizza for lunch. I found it to be delectable with just the right ratio of cheese to pizza sauce, and the toppings were in the correct proportion. As I was taking the photo with my cell phone, a couple of thoughts occurred to me. First, does anyone really care what I or anyone else had for lunch (quite frankly, I dont). Then I remembered I have seen similar off topic threads and hundreds of references to poutine on the Forum. But a question then crept into my head: What does my lunch have to do with Escape trailers and/or fiberglass trailer issues in general. I suspect many members would say absolutely nothing, and they would probably be correct. I wondered if my post might be perceived as me just posting for the sake of posting, but then I had a moment of sudden realization. There have been many discussions here on the pros and cons of having a microwave oven. Some people have stated that they would never have a microwave; others that they wouldn’t be without one. So as far as the slice of warmed up frozen pizza I had for lunch (that likely nobody cares about anyway), it’s for moments like that I want and have a microwave in my trailer. So I guess in some far-fetched, minuscule way, what I had for lunch perhaps remotely relates to the Escape way of life.

Yes Carl it does remotely have something to do with microwaves in your Escape. As for us after carrying around the microwave for three years and rarely used it took it out this year and have not missed it, it's great to have the extra storage space.

Hi: C&G in FL... I had homemade chicken noodle soup. My Bro n law made it from one of his flock of hens. It won't be laying any more eggs. Sorry it didn't look good enough to take a snap of, as the chicken looked stewed, the noodles were wet, and the carrots and celery quite dicey. It was probably very healthy... but not for the chicken!!! Alf

I guess this begs further thought on how the frozen or leftover pizza would get in the trailer in the first place to necessitate reheating. Also pizza rewarmed on the BBQ on foil, a stone, or right on the grates is wonderful as well if one doesn't have the micro.
So here are some ways I guess one can end up with leftover pizza,
1. Do you make your own pizza in the field which yielded the leftovers?
2. Were you camped close to a town which had a Pizzeria you ate at?
3. Did a pizza delivery serve the campground where camping?
4. Frozen grocery store pizzas won't fit in the fridge but can be broken down into smaller freezer bags, so that might be a source?

Carl when our microwave is not employed heating or reheating leftover pizza, chinese or a wide array of other delectable items it also serves as an excellent bread box. As a side note even I would not attempt to reheat poutine [emoji6].

One slice of bread placed on a preheated and buttered pie iron, spread on some pizza sauce, add some pepperoni, add some shredded cheese. Then place on the top slice of bread, then close it up with the other half of the preheated and buttered pie iron. Hold over fire till desired amount of bread crispness/brownness then eat. Drink a beer. Repeat and eat. Drink a beer. Repeat and eat. Drink a beer. Repeat and eat. Drink a beer. Do this while sitting next to your Escape of course. Then go in your Escape and fall asleep with your belly sticking up in the air!! This also works with other FGRV too - I have tried numerous times just to be sure. The pizza and beer taste the same!

If you had put the thread in the Cyber Campfire sub forum you wouldn't need to come up with an Escape related related.

On the pizza topic... Been experimenting at home all fall with making pizzas on the grill. Bought a smaller cast iron skillet that just fits in the Weber Q, made what I thought was excellent deep dish in it, but then it's the first deep dish I've had. Also made some thin crust right on the grate, that came out excellent too once I got the steps down. Lately been looking into what to use for dough, I always make my own at home but it'll be too involved to mess with when were away for the winter. Been looking at the grocery stores to see what they have.

Also been working on baking in the skillet, brownies and such.

My grandparents did too l We got cast iron pie ovens and made pizza at the beach . Need to do more recipes . The pizza was delicious ! Pat

It all depends on one's point of view (or taste). I find microwaved leftover pizza unacceptable. Too soggy. That is why I have an oven in the 21! I have warmed it on the grill, but never in the microwave.

I post on a couple other non trailer forums. Although not germane to the topic at hand several people post on a regular basis. They report bird sightings in their area, the temperature and climatic conditions at their home and finally a regular contribution called “what are the poor people eating tonight”’ I very much enjoy all of these postings as well as the not so germane discussions on the Escape Forum. After you camp, eat, converse and drink with people they become friends and you have a genuine interest in their life and experiences. You might call it “the family of man”. I’ll read your pizza post anytime and be thankful I’m reading something interesting and not confrontational or a rehash of oft discussed dilemmas to which there are no correct answers. Keep them pizza pictures coming.
