Smile Wanted--Loaded Escape 21

I'm in the market to immediately purchase a very nice, clean, non smoker's, "LOADED" Escape 21. This will be a no trade, no hassle, CASH deal. I'm not remotely interested in a unit that has damage of any sort, or interested in a camper that has been roughly used (banged woodwork, worn floor covering, items broken or not working correctly).

If you have a really nice 21' that you'd like to sell, please call me at 334-237-2828. And please email me pictures of it: rogerhicks7@aol.com

Thank you!!!

It would be difficult for you to find a messed up 21' since most people do not use theirs that much of the year, and they have only been manufactured for about six years. There might be one out there somewhere but we have never seen it. There are some differences, however, depending upon what the original buyer might have left out or ordered as options. Quite a few have long lists of options.

One will be along. Good luck.

The first one rolled off the line late summer 2013.

Oh, even less than I thought. Thank you. I get this wrong every time because we bought our 2011 19' in 2012 and I am always at least a year off. The 21's were unheard of when we bought our 2011. So really, there have only been a little over four years of 21's. And I wonder how many, or few, that is.

Yes, I had the 12th one made, in November 2013. So most 21's are relatively new.

HI Roger- did you check out the 2016 One of a Kind 21 from Santiago? I'm tempted with that trailer- and believe it is a bonus that the factory solar option was omitted.
It won't last.

We are 212 in August 2015 but do not know if that is for all models. They changed the numbering at some time.

That would have been 212th trailer built since the numbering rolled over (from 999 to 000 in 2015), so the 1212th Escape of all models in the whole history of the company... although a VIN ending in 212 should have been in mid-2016, so is this one actually 112?

The numbering scheme changed for 2017 - or at least they reset to 000 at the beginning of this year - so now the last three digits of a 2017 VIN indicate the number built up to that point during this year.

I checked and it is 212, yes, making it the 1212th. Do not know why you think that is 2016.

I thought the numbering was as you say for all models, which means that we don't know how many 21's have been built. We used to have the whole production schedule, long ago, so that someone could figure it out, but not now. They would have to say.

Because Jim's 19' #207 was built in October 2016, and a ETI listed a 2016 19' #215 which was built in November 2016. But strange things can happen in paperwork...

Anyway, it is true that only ETI really knows how many of each model they have made.

As I recall, when ETI had to shut down exports to the U.S. in mid-2016 to come in compliance with U.S. VIN numbering, they started VIN numbering again from scratch. Tammy told me that now, they assign VIN's in batches of 12 depending on which production line (17, 19, 21, 5.0) needs a new batch of 12 numbers next. Popular models will warrant more batches of 12 VIN's quicker than others, so it does vary and can get confusing fast. I had some success some time back trying to track 2017 model VIN numbers in an effort to see where our #053 fit into the greater scheme of things
(http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f7...bers-9370.html). So for example, under ETI's current numbering system, VIN #'s 013-024 (the second batch of 12) were assigned to 21's, #'s 025-036 were 19's, #'s 037-048 ended up being a mix of 19's and 17's (not sure why that didn't match their stated scheme), then the next batch of 21's were #'s 049-060. Our 21' was the 5th one built in the second batch of 12, so ours was the 17th 2nd generation 21 built - I think. I hope that makes some sense. The last VIN batch I received reports on before I stopped collecting this stuff from new owners were VIN #'s 085-096 being assigned to a run of 19's. That was several months back, so I'm not sure where everything is by now. No big deal. I was just curious....

To the original post: do you desire an original version, I guess now called “Classic”, with the rounded sides and curved door? Or do you want the newer mold, with straight sides, now sometimes called “2017 version”? As has been said, there is not a lot to choose from, but it seems you are being very specific, so this would clarify.

I checked and our VIN has 212. Their numbering is not what you may think. Yes, there was the shut down.
