Ross: Well now, that would be a design screw-up.

Quit throwing this common sense stuff into the mix, it only screws up my misguided thinking.....

And a second mould would be costly.

I'm curious about the need for this curtain in the 21. Are people really hanging around outside the door just to get a glimpse of someone asleep in bed?

Karen, It makes that corner a little darker. But quite honestly, we have forgotten to close it a few times and we didn't notice until morning. The bathroom blocks any direct outside light. If/when it wears out, my vote would be to not replace.

We pull it across the door whenever one of us is inside changing or anything else we want privacy for. That way someone wanting to come in knows to wait or give fair warning....probably not a bad idea for all the models.
We had enough of flashing our neighbors when we had our teardrop

We used the curtain in lieu of the screen door when the bugs were not too bad, going in and out without opening/closing the screen door was a lot easier, particularly when you had items in your hands.

I too am curious about this. Not having slept in a 21, I can only guess. If you had people sleeping on your dinette, you might have some that want that privacy from each other.

I know in our temp trailer, it has a curtain across opening to the loft, and my wife like to pull it when others are sleeping in the trailer, but that is likely only 10-12 nights this year. They do pull right out of the way behind a cabinet when not in use.

I am old enough now that I could care less. If someone really wants a look, go right ahead.

Not nearly a big enough space back there.

Yes, we would have to do such a thing as no way we would be without a curtain. In fact, we added our own to the standard (ours, which is actually a shower curtain, has a scene on it and we keep it closed much of the time). As said, it can also be used in place of the screen and that is convenient.

The bed being lengthwise in the trailer rather than at the end does make it a problem for the driver's side person if the door is opened and that also includes keeping out light if sleeping. We have no problem with the bed placement as long as there is a curtain, which makes a big difference.

There's the dimensional problem...

... but someone might still want this change just to get the bed in the rear. I assume that the dinette would have the seats facing forward and rearward; would anyone be able to get into the rear-facing seat in the front corner, between the corner of the bathroom and the dinette table?

Other than the wet bath liner, the interior is wood. As long as you don't change where stuff is that uses openings in the shell (refrigerator, water heater, furnace), you can re-arrange as desired. Even those appliances can be moved with fiberglass work. It would be interesting to see someone do something like this.

I am not seeing why it would make a difference on the driver's side. Why is that? I never thought of the light from the door opening. I can sleep with lights on or of, but any change of light needs to be gradual, or it does often wake me.

I have to ask- stripper pole?

We are seriously considering ordering an Escape to replace our current trailer. I know that Escape allows you to customize the trailer with set options, such as insulation or no insulation. But are you saying that they allow rearranging of the layout within reason? If so, I'm sold.

There are a lot of undesirables on this site, who take part in some risque stuff.

That's why I hang out here. LOL

Seriously though, it is the chrome support pole that sits on the galley counter, and lends support to the roof.

They do not allow much in the form of altering dimensions of layouts, more repurpousing of them, like changing a dinette to a permanent bed or vise versa.

The talk you are hearing in the last few posts is purely speculative.

The person is lying lengthwise and closer to the door than if at the end of the trailer so can be seen possibly right up to their head. And yes, the light can wake that person.
