I inquired yesterday and Crystal advised that the custom mattress cover is $175 if you supply the fabric.

I looked at my build list this morning...we paid $225 for the cover in addition to our supplied fabric.

Lots of reasons. The bed looks "made" with no linens. You could just throw a travasak on top and you'd be done.

wouldn't a contour sheet work just as well?

$225.00 cover
$180.00 travasak
together is over $400.00 for an unmade bed!!

We saw a picture of one on the forum and we liked how it looked and thought it would be functional for us. We considered the cost but decided to go big or go home...in the end, it is what we wanted...so more of a want that a need I suppose.

Well if we're going into the whole "want or need" argument, it's much too big for this forum. The great thing about customization is that everyone's wants and needs are different -- as it should be.
