I don't think the front window in the 21 opens. But the one on the side does. I am with you on the cool sleeping temps idea.
and I think it may not be double paned either like the others when the thermal package is ordered. On my 19' I inserted some reflectix between the window and front gravel shield to help keep it warmer, otherwise it was colder with the single pane window. But in Texas that may not be your concern, YMMV.
But in re: headboard, it looks really nice, I like it and it complements the area. Thanks for posting the picture.

2X. Without the front window cover open (at least on the 17) the front dinette feels much more cramped.

I suspect that had we used the dinnette table in our 19 we may have opened the rock guard to give a more open feel. However we didn't use the table so it wasn't a issue . With the front of the 21 being a bed area I suspect it will not be a issue for us.

We love the first ever custom cubbies over the bed, so we don't miss the window!

Jim, I think that would look good with a custom headboard like the one Robbie has. Maybe?

Sweet, did you also get the cubbies by the door also?

Yes, we got those cubbies too. The door cubbies is what made us think to ask if it was possible to have them anywhere else. And we love having them over the bed--and it looks great! (she says modestly)

I'm also liking your 'custom' mattress cover, was this also from ETI?

Yes, we sent extra fabric ordered from Sailrite so that we could have the mattress covered. It was an additional cost--I'd have to look at the build sheet because I don't remember now--but we are glad to have it!

I posted some other pics after we got home, but I will have to find which thread and post the link.

I inquired yesterday and Crystal advised that the custom mattress cover is $175 if you supply the fabric.

I looked at my build list this morning...we paid $225 for the cover in addition to our supplied fabric.

Lots of reasons. The bed looks "made" with no linens. You could just throw a travasak on top and you'd be done.

wouldn't a contour sheet work just as well?

$225.00 cover
$180.00 travasak
together is over $400.00 for an unmade bed!!

Because she wants it that way!! Once my lady friend saw the photo posted by Kountrykamper it was a "must have" item for our build list.

We saw a picture of one on the forum and we liked how it looked and thought it would be functional for us. We considered the cost but decided to go big or go home...in the end, it is what we wanted...so more of a want that a need I suppose.

Well if we're going into the whole "want or need" argument, it's much too big for this forum. The great thing about customization is that everyone's wants and needs are different -- as it should be.

I guess this is one more issue I need to clarify during my visit to ETI late this month.
