5.0TA hitch measurements
Someone help me out. A couple weeks or so ago, some kind member here posted all the 5th wheel tongue measurements. I've searched, but it must be inside some thread and I can't find it!
Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

All of them, again. Someone took some great pictures and then put measurements on the images. It was very nicely done. I'm just looking for that post.

So what do you need? - height above ground (hopefully measured to the plate, not the pin end, so you can match that to the top surface of the hitch plate)
- height above ground to the trailer - so you can confirm adequate box side clearance
- setback of pin from front edge of trailer - in this case, the pin is slightly ahead of the front of the trailer: you'll need how much if you really want to get into details of turning clearance (or you can just believe the claimed cab-to-pin distance requirement)
- (optional) plate diameter, to select a lube plate (as I recall people are using 10" diameter plates)
Tim listed the height (to the plate) as 97 cm (or 38.2")... but this depends on which suspension configuration you choose.

That's exactly what I was looking for because I'm looking to purchase a kingpin lock for when the 5er is in storage...

Trailer King Pin Lock (Eagle King Pin Lock) Keyed Unique :: LockitKing.com
That's why I asked about the measurements. Just Google RV King Pin lock and you'll see a gazillion different kinds. I wanted to make certain what I purchased fit, like it NEEDED to. My 5er is going to be sitting outside in an RV storage lot for several months while I'm working on getting the carport raised and reconfigured. All questions are NOT always what they seem Brian...

Just as the hitches all fit that standard (for RVs) kingpin, the hitch locks do, too. That wouldn't be obvious to anyone who has not had an interest in hitch hardware, and of course it's always good to check.
We're talking about the 2" size, not the 3.5" size used in some off-road applications (and never on RVs) that you might find in a search. An SAE standard specifies the dimensions, so all 2" kingpins are effectively the same.
The other hint that the kingpins - and thus locks - fit interchangably is that suppliers only offer one size. The pictured "trailer king pin lock" and "RV king pin lock" from LockItKing.com appear to be the same thing, except that the one sold as "RV" includes the safety flag. Both RV and non-RV pages offer the same MasterLock brand model. That's why the fact that they're the same is more useful than any of the several specific dimensions.
