A farewell to Shiba (our family dog)
Some of you met Shiba at the Escape rally and I'm saddened to say we had to let her go August 4th. She was a large part of our lives and lived to be over 15 1/2 years. We were grateful for all the memories.
I have posted a short video for those who have met her..

I'm so sad to hear the news about Shiba. I know how much she meant to you both, and I'm sorry she is gone.

I am very sorry to hear that, Jeff. Fortunately, the grieving is relatively short, compared to the ongoing memories you will carry with you forever.

We're sorry to hear about Shiba. It's always difficult to let go of a loved one. Your video tribute to her was sweet & fitting. Maybe you can dub her favorite spot in your trailer "Shiba's Lair" in her honor.

Re: A farewell to Shiba (our family dog)
Great video Jeff! Never met her, but I can tell I'd have like her! Such great companions, and as you said, they ask so little.

Re: A farewell to Shiba (our family dog)
Jeff;
I'm sorry for the loss of your beloved pet. The mean so much, they ask so little and they love so freely.
When the time is right, go to the local Humane Society or shelter and find someone who speaks to you.

Re: A farewell to Shiba (our family dog)
One of the hardest things our family had to deal with was letting our two 13 year old dogs go at the same time... It was 3 years ago but they are still heavy in our hearts and always bring a smile when they come up in a conversation.
Best wishes to you and Liana during this difficult time

Re: A farewell to Shiba (our family dog)
Thanks everyone for the kind words, we appreciated it.
I think Dirk may visit San Francisco later this year and we're already working on the diversion and strategy to snatch "Fin". The plan is pretty involved, once we figure out a way to simulate an earthquake, we'll be set to go.

Re: A farewell to Shiba (our family dog)
Jeff and Liana,
We're so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved friend. It's comforting to know that Shiba had a wonderful life, but it's probably not enough to dull the pain right now. We're still mourning the loss of our 15-year-old golden four years ago. Our thoughts are with you.

Re: A farewell to Shiba (our family dog)
Jake, our beloved 16 year old Lab, still camps with us. We carried a small vial of his ashes with us in the Casita, and will bring him along in the new Escape.

Re: A farewell to Shiba (our family dog)
Having chatted with you at Merritt, and met Shiba, who was taking her ease on the grass in the evening, we're sorry to hear that she's gone to the great dog park in the beyond. While our 7-year-old Milton doesn't travel with us -- he's too big, at 212 pounds -- we know how a dog friend can wrap your heart around a paw, and become an important part of the family. All the best while you work your way past this; we'll have you much in our thoughts.
